If you are a woman, you may be tempted to buy your husband a character tie, shirt or shorts this Father’s Day. These can be a fun gag gift, but do not expect your husband to wear them very often. These type of mens clothes are only a novelty. Even if your guy does appreciate your humor, the clothes are likely to sit untouched in the closet. If you are looking for something that will actually be used, stick with plain-colored ties and clothes, or with simple prints such as stripes. Unless, that is, you are trying to get your husband laughed out of the office! 

My wife and I are struggling to keep ourselves out of hot water financially.  With three kids in school we were always strapped for money to make ends meet.  Most of the time we could get buy but little by little the debts started to get out of hand and I could see where we might be getting into trouble.   Just to be on the safe side and to see what it would cost I talked to our credit union about a second mortgage on our home.  The debt consolidation loan rate seemed very low compared to my present mortgage payments.  I could do that and save a few hundred dollars a month.

After I graduated from college, I didn’t really have a strong direction of where I was going to go.  A couple of friends of mine moved out to California to pursue music and acting.  It wasn’t long before they disbanded.  I believe one of them is an Orange County photographer now.  He works with a lot of bands that I have worked with at my recent job.  I think that he is doing pretty well.  I don’t know that much about the other guys though.  We are supposed to set up some sort of reunion in the next six to eight months.

The other day I had the sudden opportunity to join some of my friends on a quick trip to do some golfing.  This short vacation trip was unexpected so I did not have the extra money to take advantage of this great opportunity.  After thinking about it for awhile I suddenly realized I could get some cash fast from one of those financial services online.  They offer short term loans for individuals for this very reason.  I could take advantage of a great opportunity to do some golfing and traveling with friends on short notice.  I applied and had my money the very next day.  I paid back the loan on my next payday and the trip and the golf were great.

I have been trying to decide on a new cell phone, because the one that I have been using for a couple of years now is quite out of date, and I could use something that can give me some more features.  Something that I am definitely looking for in a new phone, is the ability to support some Realtones, which if you aren’t sure what they are, I’ll take just a second to explain them to you.  In a basic and simple form, what they are, are songs, real songs, that are put into a particular format that allows your phone to use that real song as a ringtone.  I can’t wait to get a phone that lets me do this so that I can use some of my favorite songs as ringtones.

I can’t believe all the funny stuff Gary is coming up with for Fan Fest this year. Our theme is “be a clown” and of course we’ll have everyone made up as clowns working the event. There’ll also be a station where people can get their faces painted, etc.

Somehow I got volunteered for the dunk station. Not nuts about that, but somebody’s got to do it. I think i’ll check in with the local dive rescue folks to see if I can borrow a wet suit for under my costume. If not, I guess I’ll just have to suck it up and take my lumps.
