Driving in France

Driving in France requires usually a left hand drive vehicle or lhd 4×4, but unlike most other European countries, the French drive on the right! There are laws about making sure your headlamps are adjusted for right hand driving. It is illegal to flash your headlamps to signal a police check ahead. It is also illegal to drive with just your parking lights on. Police checks are common, even in the country. Foreigners are made to pay all fines on the spot. The French usually drive quite fast and in the center of the road in the country. Speed limits on the expressways are up to 81 mph. Could be scary!
