CFS Mimics Other Diseases

Before being able to diagnose chronic fatigue syndrome, so many other things have to be ruled out.  There are so many medical and psychiatric symptoms that can mimic those of CFS.  Mononucleosis and Lyme disease are two very common diseases that can mimic the signs and symptoms of CFS.  So can diabetes, depression, thyroid conditions and multiple sclerosis.  Until all of these things are ruled out, CFS cannot be diagnosed, and therefore Chronic Fatigue treatment cannot be started.  Unfortunately, until treatment can start, the person suffering from CFS can go through absolutely misery trying to function without a diagnosis to know what is going on with them.
