The Advancement of Shock Collars
If you have used a shock collar, you probably are aware of how it works. The electrodes on the collar send electric pulses through the dog’s system causing a reaction. If used in the right way, the dog will begin to associate the discomfort he feels with the behavior. What you may not know is that shock collars have come a long way. Some of the very first shock collars were equipped with only one level of electrical stimulation. This was a disadvantage because all dogs are different, and not all dogs will respond to the same level of stimulation.
