Why do employers do background checks?
Isn’t it amazing all of the red tape you have to go through to get a job? Companies who do thorough background checks are on the rise and we should all be thankful for this. Though it may seem to delay the hiring process and it may seem a little strange to have someone call so many people from your past, it must be done for several reasons. First of all to let employers know that you are being honest about your past careers and achievements, but also to give them more insight into who you really are. I know I would feel a lot safer at a work place knowing that the person next to me had been thoroughly checked out and wasn’t actually a fugitive in hiding!
