When you work in a radiology department, you have to be aware that your job does have its hazards. There are radiation hazards within this position but these hazards are reduced by the use of special equipment such as lead gloves and aprons as well as other shielding devices. A radiology technologist also has to wear monitoring device that will monitor the workers exposure to radiation. These are badges that will be recorded on a daily basis to keep the count of the cumulative lifetime dose that the worker is exposed to. The exposure’s are very minimal but there still will be a slight danger.
