Technology has come such a long way in the last ten years. Phone service used to cost so much to get, not just the monthly charge, but the added installation charge, the long distance charges, and the maintenance if a wire got frayed. Now with cable Internet you can get voip phone service for about half the cost and not have to pay for long distance. And cable lines are so much stronger than phone lines you don’t have to worry about them becoming frayed as easily. The reception is so much better too, even across the country. With some it seems like you are in the same room!
